Rebecca Rittich - Crampton
Bachelor of Music with Distinction

Rebecca Rittich-Crampton was born into a musical family and began her musical studies at the age of six on both violin and piano. Her passion and love for the violin led her to continue her studies professionally at the University of Victoria, where she studied chamber music extensively with the Lafayette String Quartet. Her principal violin teachers have included Nancy DiNovo, Sharon Stanis, and Ann Elliott-Goldschmidt. Rebecca has had many opportunities to participate and perform in masterclasses led by renowned artists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Amanda Forsyth, Bill Preucil, and Charles Castleman. Aside from performing, Rebecca also had the opportunity to study conducting with the late János Sándor.
Awarded a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Victoria, Rebecca travelled to Europe to continue her studies with renowned Hungarian violinist Dénes Zsigmondy, performing and touring throughout Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Prague.
Upon her return to British Columbia, Rebecca performed as a Baroque soloist with the Quasi Bene Orchestra under the direction of Adrian Albulescu. Her passion for teaching eventually led her to the east coast, where she studied Suzuki pedagogy at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, becoming a certified Suzuki violin instructor.
Upon becoming a mother for the first time, Rebecca became fascinated with early childhood music education, and her studies once again took her abroad to England, where she completed Colourstrings Music Kindergarten Teacher Certification at the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music.
Rebecca served on the faculty of two of British Columbia’s premier music institutions—the Vancouver Academy of Music and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music—for over 15 years before returning home to the eastern Fraser Valley, where she grew up, to establish her own private violin studio. A member of the British Columbia Registered Music Teachers’ Association, Rebecca has also become a sought-after adjudicator, having been invited to adjudicate music festivals, scholarship competitions, and Kiwanis Music Festivals throughout British Columbia.
A passionate and enthusiastic teacher, Rebecca enjoys working with students of all ages and levels of ability. Over the course of her teaching career, her students have consistently achieved top honours in Royal Conservatory of Music examinations, competed successfully at music festivals throughout British Columbia, and won auditions into prestigious ensembles including the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra. Former students have gone on to pursue university degrees in music. Rebecca is committed to helping each student develop strong technical skills, musical artistry, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
